Dr. Aziz Çaylı, the founder of Cellca GmbH, is the visionary behind the globally renowned culture medium ActiCHO (later ActiPro). The exceptional success of Cellca, driven by its groundbreaking technologies, led to its acquisition by Sartorius.

During his time at Cellca, Aziz recognized the critical importance of developing superior cell culture media and creating fully integrated platforms where all process modules—cells, media, and process parameters—work seamlessly together. This approach became the foundation of Cellca’s success and the ActiCHO medium’s widespread adoption.

However, while recombinant protein production had advanced significantly, areas like vaccine and stem cell production remained fragmented, empirical, and lacking standardization. Inspired by this challenge, Aziz founded Florabio in 2016 to bring the same level of innovation to platforms for stem cell production, vaccine production, and viral vector production.
